Suggested Remedy

____

Black screen appears when trying to install PS version 2026.04.30.

Open hidden window for .net installer and continue installation process

Window pops up asking if you want toa llow this app from an unknown developer to make changes, but selecting “more details” and then “Allow” doesn’t work.

____

Fix is to run the new exe file and hit Remove App instead of repair app. then open the PS app, Not the exe file (the PS app is in the hidden icons on the tool bar (the arrow pointing up).

Then login and click save.

___

PS app window goes away after logging in but no buoy data appears.

Possible authentication failed but without warning. Fix is to enter correct login credentials (username is always an email address in the new PS version), check password is right). Step one open the PS app (the PS app is in the hidden icons on the tool bar here(the arrow pointing up).

Then login and click save.

In versions older than 2026.04.30.2136 the application can erroneously say login is successful. If running this version positive confirmation of login can be checked in BlueView’s Tracking Status.

This account has not had a successful login yet

PlotterSync fails to login, error message says “Host not found (blueapi.boggroup.net:443)” (in French: “Hôte inconnu”)

Internet issue - reconnect to internet or reboot machine.

____

PlotterSync error message: “pending import”.

Check to see that folder selected in PS matches that which is selected in TZ under targets/options/fishing buoys.

____

Buoys (some/all) not showing up on TZ, but plottersync shows no error.

Increase buoy trail length in TZ to max (60 days and 365 days, respectively). Sometimes that will fix the issue, especially if none/some of the buoys haven’t updated in a while. Default is 3 days and 30 days respectively for buoy trail length in TZ. Also need to select fishing buoys and fishing buoy trails under Targets.

____

Buoys not syncing in TZ, possibly language issue.

Check to see the file data if there are commas in the GPS coordinates or if there are decimals as there should be (47.10 is correct as apposés to 47,10 for example). In order to see the buoy data file, create a test folder in the documents section and select it in PlotterSync and hit save. It will send the buoy file there. Go to that folder, open the file and see if it has the commas/decimal issue above. If it has decimals, then it’s how it’s supposed to be. Not sure the issue. If it has commas and no decimals, then we need to fix plottersync. Create a Jira ticket in cust-cloud. Describe the issue. Attach the two JSON files of interest. One is called data.json and the other is called appsettings.LOCAL.json then attach a screenshot of the windows version. Include the version number of PlotterSync in the description or comments of the Jira ticket. This can be found at the bottom of the plottersync window.

____

Buoys show up OK on TZ but there’s no data history on the buoy detail table.

Could have been caused upgrading TZ from 3.3 to 3.9 for example. Not sure remedy.

____

Buoys don’t show up after a TZ version upgrade from 3.3 to 3.9 for example.

In PS, log into another BOG account and then log into the original. This resets PS in a way that just hitting save doesn’t fix the issue. Only tried once but it worked. For the other BOG account, it should have no buoys because we don’t want other buoy data to show on their TZ as it can’t be deleted. The username is: zerobuoys and password:Zerobuoys1! Log into this, hit save in PS, then log back into the original. That should work.

____

No issue logging in to plottersync, but buoys don’t show up.

Open plottersync and check if it says something like ‘Last import: x buoy positions at x time”. If not, then the sync folder is not working and could have been created in the program files. If it was in the program files the sync folder needs to be deleted and created elsewhere such as in the documents folder because the program files contain the information for the application to run properly. If deleting the sync folder and recreating doesn’t work, check to see that the new folder location is chosen in PlotterSync and TimeZero. If you get the message ‘last import x buoys at x time’, but buoys still don’t show up in timezero then see a few rows above different issue.

____

Plotter Sync does not import the file but logs in correctly.

http://www.abssd.com/PlotterSync.Setup-2023.6.23.1528.exe

This is a fix for computers in other languages. It worked for an issue in Australia.

First uninstall PlotterSync. Then delete all files related. Install new download above.

We need to get a new download link that doesn’t have abssd.com but blueoceangear.com

 ____

No issue logging in, but the last import is outdated and new buoy data isn’t coming into PlotterSync or TZ.

Try rebooting computer, if that doesn’t work uninstall and reinstall.

____

New data is not coming in, but plottersync looks fine.

Uninstall, delete program files, reinstall PlotterSync

____

Pending import file but sync folder configured correctly in TZ and PlotterSync. Dec 2025. Paddy Daniel's TimeZero was supposedly not bringing in the most recent pos file that PlotterSync put in his sync folder, particularly when he shut down TimeZero after a trip and restarted TimeZero at the next trip it new pos files would get stuck in the sync folder.  I found a short term fix which is to open PlotterSync and click save. But the issue reappeared later. He was running 4.0 TZ and the latest PlotterSync App. Still, I uninstalled PlotterSync and reinstalled. Not sure if this is a TZ issue or a PlotterSync issue but it's interesting that clicking save on PlotterSync helps. I gave instructions to Paddy to do this if the problem arises in the future.

Uninstall, delete program files, reinstall PlotterSync

____

New data is not coming through PlotteSync, says login successful but when you hover over the Plottersync app icon in the hidden icons it says Windows Service Not Running.

click on windows icon, search “services” then scroll down to Blue Ocean Gear PlotterSync and right click and select “run” or “restart”.

This fixed issue on April 6, 2026

____

Tried to “report safe” .exe file as safe but this is not working

Use a different browser or Click and drag .exe file from your computer to customer’s via teamviewer

____

Some buoys appearing on TZ but not full buoy set, even though full buoy set appears on mobile and webapps.

if two PS applications log in with the same user account that can prevent one or the other from seeing the full set of data. The API responses are limited to 1000 buoy updates.  If when you first log in there's a big history it can take a while, because you only get 1000 every minute PS checks in.  You can circumvent this by setting the index to "now" by clicking "Fetch Max" and then "Update" If they want the history you can always click "Reset to Beginning".  It's just an index that the API looks at to know how far back in time it should go to get buoy information for the requesting account.  So there's only one index per account.
